<Unique beauty that brings you happiness, one of a kind in the world>
In the past, when people living in Watari, Miyagi Prefecture, gave gifts, they would place them in a "bag" made from leftover fabric from old kimonos. For example, it might have been a 1.8-liter bottle of rice given as a celebration or a return gift. It had no set name and was called "FUGURO," a slurred form of "fukuro" (bag).
"FUGURO" is a remake that recreates this traditional custom. The materials are kimono fabrics with auspicious patterns, carefully selected from thousands of pieces that have been stored away. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, imbuing it with wishes for the happiness of the person who receives it.
We deliver a unique beauty that brings you happiness, stitching the spirit of gratitude and the elegant tradition of wrapping and gifting precious items into our products.
We use two colors of thread, matching the colors of the outer and inner fabrics. Enjoy the beautiful stitching that is pleasing to the eye.
<A Symbol of Happiness: Auspicious Patterns>
Auspicious patterns are considered symbols of good fortune and bring happiness. Understanding the meanings of Japanese patterns connects us to the profound depth of Japanese culture passed down through generations.
<Plum Blossom Pattern> Signifies "prayers for passing exams," "academic achievement," and "safe childbirth." It is believed that the god of learning resides within plum seeds, and they have been treated similarly to the god of academics.
<Camellia Pattern> Signifies "longevity" and "business prosperity." Camellias were believed to possess the power to ward off evil spirits and were essential for deities and Buddhas, considered particularly sacred trees among evergreens.
<A Japanese Gift>
As the materials are made from kimono fabric, a symbol of Japanese culture, our products are also popular as Japanese souvenirs for overseas visitors and as gifts for foreign guests. They are compact and convenient to carry. We include a bilingual (Japanese/English) product description card.
<Versatile Uses>
Use it as a bag-in-bag, a small pouch for keys or supplements. Fill it with snacks essential for your refreshing break time at the office. Display it as interior decor in your living room. It's enjoyable to think of various ways to use it. It can be used for a variety of purposes depending on the user's ideas. It is also reversible.
<The Joy of Gazing and Collecting>
The kimono fabrics with their auspicious patterns are items that bring forth images of happiness just by gazing at them. By collecting your favorite pieces, you can enjoy creating your own personal gallery.

<Notes on Purchase>
* As all items are handmade, please understand that each piece is unique, with slight variations in size, shape, and pattern.
* In rare cases where we obtain high-quality kimono fabric, we may produce multiple items from the same fabric. Please note that the pattern placement may differ slightly from the photos due to the cutting position of the fabric.
* Colors and textures may appear differently on screen than in the actual product. If you have any concerns, please contact us or refrain from purchasing.
* As the kimono fabrics are often used and unlabeled, their exact materials cannot always be identified. We thoroughly inspect and process the fabrics (including washing) before remaking them. Please handle with care, as some fabrics may fade or shrink when wet.
* As we also sell on other sites, please forgive us if the item is out of stock.
