Artists, anarchists, and young people from all over the world moved in, transforming Berlin into a diverse and inclusive city due to its historical context. The layering of various subcultures and its harsh, complex history has shaped Berlin's diversity, where historical sites and graffiti coexist. It seems that free spirits could find their place there. Beyond traveling, I also chatted with Airbnb hosts. Their open-minded values felt deeply ingrained, as if they had grown up with them. My favorite pastime is exploring typography. One day, back at work, I stumbled upon Stefan Marx's font collection. The seemingly casual yet incredibly free lines resonated with what I wanted to express: THEN AND NOW, HERE AND THERE. Without much thought, I purchased it on the spot. Later, I discovered that the designer himself lives in Berlin. Upon closer examination of the font, I noticed he had created many additional characters, all featuring small icons related to Berlin—iconic currywurst, train stations, and even fragments of the Berlin Wall. I've translated this ineffable, subtly felt sensation into this series of objects, hoping to bring a touch of escapist freedom and romance into our waking reality.
