Taiwan is a world-renowned butterfly kingdom, with 430 species found on this small island of over 36,000 square kilometers. After the spring, due to continuous days of winter rain, which are not conducive to butterfly growth, a small creature that has prepared all year long emerges from its chrysalis, becoming the sole dancing silhouette in the mountains. The Shirt Valley Little Gray Butterfly, after pupating in the summer each year, hibernates until the following spring to emerge. This characteristic meant it wasn't officially recorded and recognized until 1983. The Tainong No. 17, developed in Taiwan in 1978, became the most popular pineapple among Taiwanese people due to its crisp and sweet taste, also known as the Diamond Pineapple. As the Taiwanese pronunciation of "pineapple" (fènglísù) sounds similar to "Wanglai" (meaning prosperous and thriving), it has become a significant representative gift from Taiwan. In recent years, with the advent of pineapple cakes, it has soared to become a renowned overseas souvenir.
