Xiao Min is a young adult with moderate intellectual disabilities who works in the culinary department at Maria Social Welfare Foundation. Xiao Min joined the culinary team at Maria's at the age of 18 and has been working there for over 10 years. Although she has an intellectual disability due to oxygen deprivation at birth, which affects her verbal expression, and also has congenital visual impairment, making her eyes easily unfocused and lacking depth perception; She has overcome the challenges of visual recognition step by step, starting with sorting vegetables. Gradually, she took on tasks such as stirring large pots of food and portioning dishes, becoming a capable assistant to the chefs in the culinary department. While unable to perceive depth, Xiao Min expresses her emotions—joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness—through high-contrast flat color blocks, bold brushstrokes, and a riot of colors in her art. And just like anyone else, she secretly gives her favorite teachers small, hand-drawn notes filled with pictures of them after class. With passion, life will always find its way. ■ The world's first antibacterial socks created by individuals with intellectual disabilities. ■ Knitting one pair of socks = recycling two plastic bottles. ■ Size: 22-26cm (fits M-L). ■ Awarded the Grand Slam Champion of the 2023 Taichung Top Ten Souvenir Award.
