Tenugui - 10 Golden Carp

To commemorate the 270th anniversary of Kondaya Genbei in Muromachi, Kyoto, this work depicting 270 folds of carp has been decorated with a golden carp on one fold each year, marking its 10th year in 2018. To commemorate this milestone, we created a limited-edition tenugui towel with a 10-fold golden carp rising just like the curtain. It is hygienic because it dries easily after use and dirt does not accumulate on the edges. The reason for this is said to be that it is easy to tear during emergencies such as when used as a bandage. As you wash it, it will stop fraying.
