It carries the simple, unadorned essence of raw cotton. The weaving was done on an old industrial loom from the 50s and 60s. Its speed is significantly slower than modern machines, and it's prone to thread breakage. Yet, the cloth woven on these 'outdated' machines surprisingly possesses the character of handwoven textiles. I am truly fond of this fabric. Thoughts Wandering After reading San Mao's stories, a desire to visit the Sahara Desert began to bloom. This inspired the entire Sahara series, with the initial vision being desert robes – garments so wide they envelop the body, subtly hinting at the silhouette beneath with every movement. They carry an air of mystery, much like the Sahara Desert and the camels that traverse it. During the day, the heat relentlessly impacts every cell, and as the sun sets, a sudden chill envelops every speck of dust in the air. This robe was designed from imagination, crafted with a textured fabric reminiscent of handwoven cloth. Raw edges at the neckline, cuffs, and hem highlight the material's rugged character. A Word from the Wearer After our products are made, they are washed by hand in our studio using only clean water. Each piece is then air-dried, ironed, packaged, and stored until you decide to make it yours and it's shipped out. Upon first touch, the fabric may feel slightly stiff and dry. However, after wearing it for half a day, it will soften as it absorbs the ambient temperature and humidity. Over time, it will gradually conform to the wearer's unique shape.
