"Traditional window grilles" were once a ubiquitous sight in Taiwanese alleyways. These intricate metal designs were more than just decoration; they carried the memories and blessings of the Taiwanese people, with patterns like plum blossoms symbolizing resilience and turtle motifs representing longevity.
We combine the art of traditional window grilles with enameling. Using fine silver wire instead of iron bars, we meticulously outline these historically resonant patterns. Then, using the wet-packing technique, we fill them with color before firing them in a high-temperature kiln. Transformed by the fire into shimmering metal paintings, the pieces come alive, becoming your most vibrant creations...
※ The instructor will provide traditional window grille templates. You are also welcome to design your own pattern.
**Each participant will have a set of tools and a selection of colored powders.**
