Hand-adjusted Calligraphy Nib: 1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to dip the nib in ink and use it for a period before using a converter. 2. If you experience skipping with a converter, check your grip angle. Ensure both iridium points are simultaneously touching the paper; do not write with one side only. If skipping persists, check the nib for paper fibers or debris. 3. Try filling ink directly by removing the converter. 4. Rinse the nib. If you write with one iridium point consistently or apply excessive pressure, it can cause misalignment of the iridium points, leading to scratching and paper debris accumulation in the slit. 5. Calligraphy nibs are adjusted from EF nibs to have a curved tip. Line variation is achieved not by pressing down, but by the angle of your grip, utilizing the nib's curvature to create different line widths. Holding the pen more upright reduces the contact area with the paper, resulting in thinner lines. The more you tilt the pen, the larger the contact area, producing thicker lines.
