The surface also makes it easier for users to maintain, without fear of accidentally getting ink on and damaging the wooden body. However, this finishing process incurs higher costs. Most pens on the market are polished or waxed after finishing; such elaborate treatments are rarely seen (natural grain, high-quality random selection). This pen model features a pneumatically sealed cap with flame grain engraving, gunmetal gray/antique bronze plated finish and accessories, and a spring-loaded clip design engraved with the 3952 brand logo. The nib is a German Bock #180 (#5) small-sized rose gold steel nib, handcrafted and finely tuned by Old Goat artisans into a calligraphy nib. Hand-tuned calligraphy nib: 1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to first dip the nib in ink and let it break in for a period before using a converter. 2. If you experience ink flow issues with the converter, check your grip angle. Ensure both iridium points touch the paper simultaneously; avoid writing with one side only. If ink flow issues persist, check if paper fibers or debris are stuck on the nib. 3. Remove the converter, try filling ink directly from the sac for a gravity feed. 4. Rinse the nib. If you write with one iridium point consistently, or apply excessive pressure, it can easily cause misalignment of the iridium points, leading to uneven height differences, scratching the paper, and accumulating debris in the nib slit. 5. Calligraphy nibs are adjusted from EF nibs to create an arc. Line thickness is not achieved by pressing down, but by the angle of the pen. When the pen is held more upright, the contact area between the nib and the paper is smaller, resulting in finer lines. The more the pen is tilted, the larger the contact area, producing thicker lines. Achieving varied line widths depends on your dexterity and skill.
