White clay, which allows for a clear glaze and embraces the simple, rustic texture characteristic of pottery. After being shaped into a compact, plump, and rounded vase for a single bloom, it was fired with a glaze that develops a tranquil blue-grey hue. The form, slightly tapered at the base, maintains a rounded yet clean and elegant appearance. The creation process takes place in my home studio, equipped with an electric potter's wheel and a medium-sized electric kiln. Every step, from wedging the clay to forming, trimming, drying, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, is done entirely by hand. Due to the absorbent nature of pottery, a waterproofing agent will be applied to prevent leaks. This treatment has been tested to hold water for approximately 40 hours without seepage. However, there is a possibility that some evaporated moisture might subtly appear from the base, creating a slightly damp sensation. If this is a concern, placing a cloth or coaster underneath would offer peace of mind during use. I explore various glazes and clays, seeking the best combinations to create pottery in a wide range of colors and forms.
