Graduated from the Political Warfare Fine Arts Department in 1968, receiving 2nd prize in the printmaking category at the Lu Guang Art Exhibition. In 1980, received the National Painting Award from the Mayor of Tsushima City, Japan. Studied under renowned masters such as Huang Leisheng, Du Shengyin, Liu Qiwei, and Li Qimao. Served as Director of the CTV Art Center. Immigrated to Vancouver, Canada, in 1996, teaching Chinese and Western painting. Held numerous joint and solo exhibitions with students abroad. Returned to Taiwan in 2011, continuing his teaching and creative pursuits. Held his fifth joint exhibition with students at the Neihu Software Science Park in 2014. Xing Wanling cultivated many peonies in his garden in Vancouver. Every April, when the flowers bloomed, he would personally observe their myriad forms, capturing the magnificent beauty of the "King of Flowers" with unparalleled mastery. In his artwork, peonies display diverse postures, embodying their unique charm and extraordinary spirit. He continually seeks innovation across various mediums and subjects, meticulously selecting his printing materials. His distinctive splashed-ink technique, blending Eastern and Western brushwork, combines rendering and abstract art, resulting in his unique "Formless Peony," a harmonious fusion of East and West. His solo and joint exhibitions in Taiwan, mainland China, and Canada have earned him widespread recognition and admiration from collectors and art enthusiasts across Greater China and internationally.
