DAPENG BAY: 3952 Lao Shanyao - Named after a famous Taiwanese scenic spot, this is a special edition for grand writing. Carefully selected golden camphor burl wood is lathe-turned to create a unique piece with a stunning, high-definition, high-gloss finish. The high-definition, high-gloss treatment involves repeatedly applying and polishing clear lacquer until the natural pores of the wood grain are completely filled. This meticulous process, which requires dozens of cycles of lacquering and polishing, results in a smoother surface, a more tactile writing experience, and a more three-dimensional and vivid wood grain. This finish also makes the pen easier to care for, protecting the wooden body from accidental ink stains. While more costly to produce, this method offers a unique aesthetic. The high-definition, high-gloss finish offers a lustrous sheen akin to the wood trim in luxury car interiors, with a mirror-like polish and a substantial feel. Most pens on the market are simply polished or waxed after turning; such intensive treatment is exceptionally rare. (Natural wood grain, quality varies; items are shipped randomly.) The pen is accented with original brass components, electroplated in a gunmetal grey finish, featuring a twist-retracting airtight cap and a specially designed flexible clip.
The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) two-tone steel nib, meticulously handcrafted by a Lao Shanyao artisan into a calligraphy nib capable of producing varied line widths. It offers a responsive writing feel, allowing for expressive strokes that highlight the nuances of Chinese characters and showcase your individual taste.
**Gift Set Includes: German SCHMIDT K2 converter (ink not included) + a handcrafted black genuine leather pen sleeve by a Taiwanese master craftsman (style shipped randomly) + 3952 Lao Shanyao wooden pen box packaging.**
Pen Dimensions: Total length approx. mm, body and grip section length approx. mm, maximum diameter approx. (excluding clip) mm, total weight approx. (excluding nib) g.
Hand-ground and adjusted calligraphy nib:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is recommended to first use an ink dipping method for writing. (Do not remove the converter installed in the pen barrel to prevent ink from flowing back into the pen body after dipping and writing.) After a period of writing and familiarization with the nib's characteristics, use the converter for inking.
2. The calligraphy nib is an EF nib ground and adjusted to have a curved tip. Line width variation is achieved not solely by pressing the nib, but by the angle at which the pen is held, utilizing the nib's curvature to create different line thicknesses. When held at a more upright angle, the contact area between the nib and the paper is smaller, resulting in a finer line. As the pen is held at a more oblique angle or with slight pressure, the contact area increases, producing a broader line. The ability to write with varying line widths depends on your skill. (Each nib has a certain pressure tolerance; avoid excessive force that could damage or misalign the nib. It is recommended to use a writing pad under the paper for a better writing experience.)

Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the pen body and cap interior. When storing the pen, do not place it tip-down for extended periods.
Gentle Reminder: Avoid pressing down or writing at an angle (e.g., for right-handed writers, it is recommended to hold the nib pointing towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position) to prevent accidental displacement of the iridium tip, which can cause scratching or ink flow issues. Rinse the nib with clean water regularly to prevent ink buildup and blockages that may affect writing quality.
