|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"A person cultivates jade for three years, and jade nourishes a person for a lifetime."
Crystals possess a powerful energy field but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, has a gentle and mild nature. While its energy field may not be as strong as that of crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, bringing only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI〔Si2 O6〕, often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains more than 2% chromium.
Green: Contains more than 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains elemental iron.
Purple: Contains elemental manganese.
Blue: Fundamentally similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with calcium also present in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of bodily life activities, fulfilling crucial physiological functions throughout all stages of growth and development, from infancy to adulthood and old age. Calcium is an indispensable macronutrient essential for human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is significantly important for maintaining normal physiological functions, helping prevent cardiovascular diseases, and regulating blood sugar. The human body cannot synthesize it and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with type 2 diabetes, chromium can increase insulin sensitivity. It aids in controlling cholesterol and blood sugar for overweight individuals and is lost faster under high-stress conditions. Therefore, these three groups particularly need chromium.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adult bodies contain approximately 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily found in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the human intestines, with unabsorbed nickel largely excreted in feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macronutrient essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is a nutrient necessary for normal bone growth. Adequate magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal neuromuscular function, with both elements having a complementary effect. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so a deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can increase chronic inflammation in the body and is linked to the occurrence of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Some studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, which has relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have a lower mortality rate from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, normal blood magnesium levels reduce the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) aids in biochemical reactions catalyzed by enzymes and supports metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements." Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron for smooth operation.
Medical research has revealed the remarkable healing properties of jadeite. Long-term wear of jadeite can not only prevent illnesses but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Treating Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions occasionally experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help treat this common ailment. The jadeite pendant emits energy that stimulates the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest. Through continuous massage, it can achieve a lasting effect.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have benefits such as "clearing internal heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair, benefiting the five organs, calming the spirit, unblocking blood vessels, and enhancing sight and hearing."
Regularly wearing jadeite and jade jewelry allows the trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordination and balance of physiological functions of the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite ornaments, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, can come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite are absorbed into the body, nourishing the skin and making women appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling Relief: The cool nature of jadeite provides a soothing and cooling sensation. During the Tang Dynasty, Concubine Yang would hold jade in her mouth during summer to relieve heat, establishing a cool summer tradition. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants all serve to provide relief from the heat.
The above are well-founded reasons for appreciating jadeite. Another, less substantiated reason is the inexplicable feeling of comfort and solace derived from looking at jadeite when feeling down or stressed.
