Wax is a combustible material with a flash point typically above 220°C (this varies by wax type). Never leave the heating wax unattended; constantly monitor the thermometer to check the temperature. 2. When the wax begins to smoke (around 150°C-160°C), it indicates that the wax quality has deteriorated. 3. If accidental ignition occurs, quickly cover the beaker (pot) with a wet towel to cut off the air supply and extinguish the flame. 4.
