The unique fragrance of this paper comes from benzoin resin, whose purifying virtues were discovered in Armenia in 1885 by Auguste Ponsot, who decided to introduce its benefits to France. Benzoin was historically used externally to treat asthma, coughs, and colds; today, it is still used as a healing agent.
