Crafted from a coarse red clay, this piece allows you to appreciate the cozy warmth and rustic texture unique to earthenware. All processes, from kneading the clay and shaping to the bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously done by hand in my home studio, which is equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. The gently rounded form, the tactile, slightly rough texture, and the satisfying weight all contribute to the authentic feel of handcrafted pottery. While mass production isn't possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, offering a charm that can only come from handmade items. The item you receive will be identical to the one shown in the product images. To ensure it is gentle on your table surfaces, the base has been sanded smooth. Capturing the precise color of the turquoise glaze in photographs can be a little challenging. Depending on the light source, the actual color may appear slightly more yellowish than it does in the images. We kindly ask for your understanding in this regard. By experimenting with various glazes and clays, I continuously seek out the best combinations, creating a diverse range of pottery in both color and form. For this reason, all our pottery undergoes a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for an initial "seasoning" soak. This process requires 2-3 days, which is why we set the shipping period to 5 days from your order.
