Jialan tribe (tribal tour) | The Jialan tribe is located in Jinfeng Township. The indigenous people are called Buliblosan, which means a foggy and treey village. The main ethnic groups of the tribe are the Rukai and Paiwan tribes. The Jialan tribe was destroyed by the surge of the Taimali Stream during the 1988 typhoon. The results of reconstruction in recent years have emerged and it has become a village full of aboriginal flavors. The first glance when I came to the Jialan tribe was the characteristic image arch decorated with hundred-step snakes and mountain pig teeth. After entering the tribe, you can see various totems, wood carvings and paintings full of aboriginal flavor everywhere. The permanent houses are all decorated differently, which makes the originally pale and uniform community full and fresh.
Chen Family Stone House | Located near Xinfu Tribe in Jialan Village, the owner of the stone house, Mr. Chen Shenxiang, built the stone house of the Rukai people in 1984 with relatives and friends. The stone house displays a variety of pottery urns and hundreds of snakes. The totem is very unique, and the Chen Family’s slate house also allows the Rukai people to find their hometown of the soul, which is quite characteristic of visiting and tribal culture and art.
