Bone china teacup set from the Flowers of the Month series made by Royal Albert

Vintage English bone china teacup and saucer from the Flowers of the Month series (October) made by Royal Albert. Thomas C. Wild bought the Albert Works in Longton, Stoke on Trent in 1895. This factory had been named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's Consort. It specialised in tea, breakfast and dessert pieces with floral designs, and it soon gained a reputation of producing beautiful china tea & breakfast sets, firmly establishing the Royal Albert name. The Flowers of the Month series features a Montrose cup and scalloped saucer. It was introduced in 1970, and judging by the back stamp on these items, this set was made in the 1970s. It is in good condition with the cup only showing a little wear and the saucer with small surface marks.
