The Dogwood (Hanamizuki) is a plant that can be enjoyed for a long time, blooming vibrantly from when the cherry blossoms finish until autumn, when it bears a multitude of shiny red fruits. Among the Cornaceae family, known as Mizuki because water drips from its branches when cut, the Dogwood (Hanamizuki) was named by adding the character for "flower" due to its exceptionally beautiful blossoms. In 1912, cherry saplings were sent from Tokyo, Japan, to Washington D.C., USA. In return, Dogwood saplings were gifted to Japan in 1915. This is why the flower language associated with the Dogwood includes "reciprocation" and "receive these feelings." Other meanings include "glamorous love," inspired by its beautiful flowers, and "permanence," reflecting its slow growth. We envisioned an accessory that allows you to appreciate both the stunning flowers and the abundant, glossy red fruits of the Dogwood.
