This is an A5 size book cover crafted from the flesh side of bridle leather sourced from the UK. ■ Material The flesh side of bridle leather from Thomas Ware & Sons, a renowned tannery established in Bristol, UK, in 1840 with over 170 years of history, is used. Bridle leather was originally created for horse tack and is known for its exceptional strength. It is treated by impregnating the leather with waxes such as beeswax, tallow, and vegetable oils to enhance its robustness and durability. The white powder found on the leather's surface is the "Bloom," a sign of authentic bridle leather, which forms as the wax solidifies. The bloom will naturally wear off with use, but if you prefer, it can be brushed away or wiped off with a dry cloth. The texture of the leather is firm yet supple, a characteristic of the durable bridle leather used. We hope you will enjoy the process as it gradually molds to your touch. For the stitching, 100% natural linen waxed thread from the Taiwanese brand "Rikka" is used.
