Hatsu Mimi's "相 着 対 策" (Sōchaku Taisaku) — To rely on each other through the most intimate act of wearing, Maintaining distance, yet staying connected, Cheering each other on with art! 愛與和平 (Love and Peace) 《Artist Introduction》 Artqpie Life Composed of AJ & Janeni, they run a Zine library in an old house in Taichung. They edit print media in their daily lives and use illustrations to document the things they love within these pages, sharing their work through independent publications. Their recent plan is to personally build a playroom for their children, which takes up most of their time, yet they still carve out moments for their passions. This is the essence of Artqpie Life – perhaps this is Artqpie Life itself. 《Design Concept》 In this moment when the world faces various challenges, what we need is love, and what we long for is freedom. In the pursuit, we continuously contemplate our original intentions and the balance of the present. The members are active in Taiwan and Japan, aiming to convey a world of peace and happiness through diverse activities. Due to their fondness for the human connections within the barber shop, they chose "Kōran Men's Perm" from the signboard as the brand name, attempting to give a voice to old barber shops in this era of their decline. Today, Kōran Men's Perm originates from clothing, trying to connect symbols on the body with the spirit of the old era. If you encounter a fellow "Lan friend" on the road, don't forget to straighten your chest and say hello! Instagram: tainan.kouran 《Design Concept》 Since Hatsu Mimi itself is related to "news," and in Taiwanese barber shops, besides haircuts, ear cleaning is also an important service. Kōran has chosen two objects to represent Hatsu Mimi (ears) and an ear-picking tool (called "xiāo xī zǐ" in Taiwanese dialect), with the characters for "Best News" written largely in Kōran's familiar calligraphy. The overall imagery is good news entering the ear. "Xiāo xī" (消息) is an ancient term for a fluffy ear-picking tool, because ancient people believed that whatever entered the ear was news.... Thinking about it now, this name is truly romantic.
