This is an upcycled kintsugi ring made from Arita-yaki porcelain, a sustainable approach to breathing new life into discarded ceramics.
Broken or chipped porcelain pieces that would otherwise be unusable are given a new purpose, meticulously repaired with kintsugi, and transformed into beautiful accessories.
Our concept is to reconnect you with nature and Japan's enduring traditions, reimagining these historical pieces into modern accessories that bridge the past and future, creating new possibilities.
Each small fragment is imbued with the vibrant colors and artistry of Arita-yaki.
Despite their size, these pieces possess a distinct presence. The patterns and shapes are intentionally asymmetrical, adding a unique, individual touch.
The edges of the porcelain fragments are adorned with kintsugi, allowing the elegant gold to catch the light even from the side, lending an air of refined sophistication.
These versatile pieces complement both casual and formal attire.
Porcelain fragment size: 17 x 14mm
Hardware: Clip-on earrings with a spring mechanism (includes silicone pads)* Hardware cannot be changed.
Weight: Despite being porcelain, they are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
As each piece is one-of-a-kind, they make truly exceptional gifts.
They are perfect for conveying your thoughtfulness to someone special.
*The item pictured will be sent. However, if it has been sold on another site, it may be made to order. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in color, pattern, and size compared to the photographed porcelain fragments or natural stones.
*Kintsugi is a unique Japanese traditional repair method that uses lacquer and gold powder to mend broken or chipped ceramics. This piece is crafted using a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional kintsugi with natural urushi lacquer, this method utilizes adhesive for the main bond.
The kintsugi elements are created using lacquer (a manufacturer-created paint, not raw urushi) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), with UV resin also used for reinforcement.
