Unlike cameos carved from shell or stone, this piece achieves incredibly delicate details that would be impossible to engrave on such a small surface. It's like an illustration from a miniature book… The cameo part alone is a generous size, just under 4cm x 3cm. This size allows you to fully appreciate the fine artistry of the detailed illustration. The sixth image shows the cameo placed against a postcard for scale, and the seventh image shows it next to a near life-size portrait. The back features both a brooch pin and a loop, allowing it to be used as a necklace as well. Since the loop is quite small, we've included a necklace chain with an easy-to-use lobster clasp.
