Originally part of a teapot from the Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki "Blue Koichi Bamboo Shippo" collection, the vibrant turquoise glaze layered with yellows and deep blues creates a beautiful, almost painterly expression within these small ceramic fragments. The surface features a distinctive textured relief, adding to its unique tactile quality. Given the inherent presence of the ceramic shards themselves, we've intentionally designed these as simple stud earrings. For this collaboration, we were specially entrusted with precious ceramic fragments that, for various reasons like cracks or chips, were never made available for sale throughout their long history. Our intention is not merely to reuse broken items, but to transform them into forms that allow the ceramic culture and artisanal techniques of Kyoto, passed down through generations, to be enjoyed in contemporary life.
