White Slip Vase

Stoneware / Slip / Ash Glaze size: Ø4.5 w10 h16.5 cm The slip is formulated with clay from Miaoli. The ash glaze is created by burning plants grown on the same land, then processing their ashes into a natural grey glaze. The slip is applied using brushes made from bundled dried grass, or by hand. The maker enjoys crafting pieces that retain the texture and color of the clay, imbued with the character of hand-thrown lines and a distinct atmosphere, preserving a pure, elemental strength. As each ceramic piece is handmade, actual colors and dimensions may vary slightly from the images. Imperfections such as glaze crawling, running, or crackling are unique expressions of the individual artwork.
