The artist carefully controls the thickness of each glaze application and fires it at 1260°C. Over 20 hours of intense heat transform the piece, allowing the glazes to contract and flow within the kiln, evoking the intricate patterns and fluid movement of peacock feathers. The challenge in its creation lies in the precise control of glaze thickness and the delicate adjustment of the firing temperature curve. If the glaze is too thin or the temperature too low, the signature peacock feather pattern will not emerge. Conversely, if the glaze is too thick or the temperature too high, it will flow onto the firing plate, potentially damaging both the cup and the plate. Even ambient temperature fluctuations can influence the final outcome. Despite years of dedicated study, the subtle variations remain unpredictable, which is precisely what imbues each finished piece with its precious uniqueness. It is hoped that this artwork will inspire everyone to embrace hope when facing challenges, to persevere with unwavering effort, and to one day unfurl their own magnificent "feathers," illuminating their lives with brilliance, much like a peacock in full display.
