The original Western proverb is "No rose without a thorn." It's a wonderful proverb, isn't it? That everyone has their flaws! As I was idly thinking about this, I found beautiful flowers online. "Ah, they're so pretty~!" As I opened page after page of beautiful flowers... Eventually, the screen was filled with images of dangerous, poisonous flowers. So, when we adapt this into an OTUTUMI proverb: "Beautiful flowers have a hidden danger." Simply changing "thorns" to "poison" significantly elevates the level of intensity... This is how the theme "Transforming beautiful, poisonous flowers into OTUTUMI" came to be. First, the irresistibly cute bell-shaped Clematis. This plant, belonging to the buttercup family, contains a toxin called protoanemonin in its sap, which can cause dermatitis. It's also said to cause gastrointestinal issues if accidentally ingested. Oh my, how frightening! The more beautiful a flower, the more poisonous it seems to be. OTUTUMI is drawn to such flowers.
