A single earring crafted with Dogon antique beads, decorative brass, and a hidden blue bead. The semi-transparent beads, with their milky white, plump shape, are heirlooms passed down through the Dogon people of Africa. These are trade beads made in the Netherlands between the 17th and 19th centuries. The Dogon are said to possess deep knowledge of astronomy. Beads in sky-like blues and cloud-like clear (semi-transparent) hues are often found among them. The gentle wear on their surfaces adds to their charm! (Dogon bead size: 1.1cm length, 1.3cm width) Paired with brass caps featuring beautiful openwork. Nestled within the openwork brass caps are antique Venetian beads in a deep blue. Above and below the Dogon beads, we've added brass beads resembling temari balls, adorned with linear details. A slightly larger ring is threaded with a brass bead shaped like an urn.
