In the early firing of pottery, in order to prevent the wood ash produced after burning from adhering to the vessel, Gu always covered each piece with a sagger to keep the glaze flawless. In contrast, today's wood-fired works are presented with three elements: soil, wood ash, and fire marks. These elements are naturally produced and unpredictable. Compared with the predictability of traditional glazes, wood-fired firing is even more elusive. https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7852/52179760342_6e21822346_b.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7852/49816019266_f1e35df690_b.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7852/49816019521_d5651e93b2_b.jpg
