A plump, round yunomi with a carved pattern, inspired by Craspedia.

Made from coarse red earthenware clay that evokes the warmth of pottery. After shaping it into a plump, round yunomi, a carved pattern inspired by the charmingly round Craspedia flowers was added and colored with ceramic paints. A matte glaze is applied over the entire cup, creating a rustic texture. This item was previously listed with only an underglaze. Upon closer inspection, it was felt that adding an overglaze to make the flowers more distinct would result in a better vessel. Therefore, it was removed from sale, the overglaze was applied, and it has been relisted. Its plump, round, and lovely form fits comfortably in your hands, with the curves of the cup conforming to your palms when held with both hands. The inside is a light, whitish color, allowing you to fully enjoy the appearance of transparent beverages such as sencha or black tea. Of course, it's also suitable for drinks like cafe au lait or hojicha latte. It can also be used as a vessel for ice cream or pudding. Please enjoy it with a variety of drinks and dishes. All processes, from clay kneading to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel. While mass production is not possible, each piece has its own unique character, and you can enjoy the charm that comes from being handmade. The item you will receive is the same as pictured. The base of the cup has been sanded to minimize scratching your table. Due to the thicker construction required for the carved pattern, this yunomi is slightly heavier than others. As the waterproofing process takes 2-3 days, we set the shipping period to 5 days from order placement.
