Cacao Husk Dyed Organic Cotton Aran Knit Low-Gauge Socks
When creating these basic organic cotton socks, we focused on a wonderfully soft feel, a gentle fit that doesn't constrict, and a knit pattern that complements any style.
The low-gauge knit offers a fluffy, comfortable feel, while the smooth yarn envelops your feet in warmth and a sense of security. The elegant Aran knit pattern provides a simple yet distinctive design. They are also recommended for layering as part of a cold-prevention routine.
These socks are dyed a moss green using "cacao husks."
Enjoy the natural colors achieved through botanical dyeing.
The flower language of cacao: "Sacred," "Kindness."
They offer a relaxed fit without tightness. A small percentage of polyester and nylon (8%) is included for elasticity, but it is used in areas that do not directly touch the skin.
These Aran knit low-gauge socks were produced by a sock factory in Nara Prefecture with 70 years of history. Skilled artisans have crafted socks that truly showcase the beauty of organic cotton.
They are versatile enough for year-round wear: wear them alone in spring and autumn, use them for air-conditioning protection in summer, or layer them for warmth in colder months.
These socks also make a thoughtful gift.

[What is Botanical Dyeing?]
Botanical dyeing is a technique that extracts dyes from sources such as flowers, leaves, roots, stems, trees, bark, and fruits. A protein-based adhesive is applied to the fabric to ensure even absorption of the natural dye, followed by the addition of a small amount of chemical dye. This process enhances colorfastness (resistance to fading from light, sweat, and washing, and stabilization of the pigment) without the need for a mordant, resulting in beautiful natural colors on the fabric.
Natural dyes are not as simple as chemical ones.
A single color contains multiple pigments; the interplay of both weak and strong pigments, through diffuse reflection, creates a gentle hue that is pleasing to the eye.
We hope you will enjoy the vibrant yet deep and soft colors of botanical dyeing.
Botanical dyeing is an eco-friendly method that is gentle on both the planet and people, as it generates less water pollution and consumes less water during the dyeing process.
