RESERVED! Averbakh Soviet vintage chess set 1930s - antique Russian wooden chess

Small elegant style chess pieces which are associated with the name Averbakh. This small model of the chess pieces set of the 1930s is very rare. It is really artful work to make such small figures so graceful. Chess pieces seems are weighted as far as it is possible to weigh down such thin and flat small figures. Board 41.5 cm, square 5 cm. King 9.1 cm, base 2.5 cm. Pawn 3.4 cm. Weight 790 g. Stamp of the plant named after Karakozov. This plant was founded in 1895 and initially engaged in manufacture of wooden containers, straw caps for packaging and storage of bottles, cans, shells, bombs. The plant was renamed many times, under Soviet rule it was nationalized and in 1931-1940 it was called "Karakozov Shipbuilding Plant No. 4". Now it`s Public Joint Stock Company "RADIOPRIBOR PLANT", located in Saint Petersburg. It is a great rarity that such elegant chess pieces, after about 90 years, have survived without breakdowns!
