Through innovative design, clay is transformed into adornments, incorporating six traditional motifs: "Mother's Eyes" representing maternal love and harmony, "People Holding Hands Dancing" symbolizing a bountiful harvest festival, "Waves" signifying the fishing and hunting life, "Feathers" denoting warriors, and "Unity of Heaven and Man" representing the cosmos. The early Amis people primarily lived by fishing and hunting. "Futing" originates from the Southern Amis word "Buting," meaning fish. It also symbolizes abundance and good fortune. Cured fish is a delicacy served at important Amis banquets, highlighting the significant role of fish in Amis history.
