Surrounded by the sea, Taiwan has accumulated a profound and extensive marine culture over the changing years. It originates from the roots of Austronesian peoples, the Formosa mentioned by Westerners during the Age of Discovery, the past crossing of the sea from the mainland, the traces left by different peoples who arrived and departed through time, to the homeland we inhabit today. The history of “great eras” forms the backdrop of our upbringing, while “small eras” belong to the fragmented memories of our youth—misplaced in fishing villages along the coast, the seaside where we ran and shouted with friends, the coastal highway stretching forward against a deep blue backdrop, the western sandy beaches, the northern rocky shores, the moments waves crash against reefs, the resilient fishermen guiding boats into the harbor, the lively and boisterous fish markets, the joyful indulgence in seafood snacks… These fragments that accompanied everyone's growth, the past and the present, and future possibilities, are the emotions and thoughts we wish to share with everyone through “Sea Waves.” Place of Origin/Manufacturing Method Taiwan
