French Belle Époque Style Mother-of-Pearl and Silver-Capped Handle Brass Wide-Sided Cake Fork Exquisite French flatware, designed in the Belle Époque style. The fork face is crafted from brass, with the handle primarily featuring mother-of-pearl. In addition to the sterling silver collar connecting the parts, there is a sterling silver cap at the base. The mid-section is adorned with precisely cut mother-of-pearl. The entire set radiates a luminous glow. The handle is mother-of-pearl, encased by a silver-capped mother-of-pearl ring, paired with a brass fork face. This beautiful combination of gold, silver, and white hues is exceptionally elegant and luxurious. The left side of the fork head is wider, designed for cutting cakes and fruits, with a flowing, ornate, and refined silhouette. This type of French flatware is quite rare, mainly due to limited production and high prices abroad. Our shop collaborates with antique tableware dealers in France who specialize in sourcing these particular items, allowing us to offer such fine pieces. They are very scarce in the Taiwanese market and highly collectible. Similar handles from previously acquired sterling silver cutlery bore hallmarks dating approximately to the reigns of Louis Philippe I to Napoleon III of France. Based on this, we estimate that this set of dessert forks was crafted around the same period.
