★Applicable seasons: spring, summer, autumn (available in four seasons in areas that are not too cold)
★Features:
The production process of unique, hand-sewn works is time-consuming, but the pattern of the fabric itself can be considered, only a few warp or weft threads are raised to fix the fabric, and stitches are hidden, so that the fixed fabric is not deformed, does not affect the overall integrity of the work, and is double-sided. All can be perfectly presented, avoiding the seams that can occur in machine sewing. Each piece is sewn with the designer's own hand-polished and dyed distressed brand bronze medals and exclusive storage bags. The work includes packaging, suitable for gift giving.
★Note: The work does not include pins
★Design origin
The pattern of staggered squares was called "graupe" (ㄒㄧㄢˋ) in the Heian period. Also known as "Stone Stack". Because the Kabuki actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu in the Edo period loved this pattern, it was called the "Ichimatsu" pattern. In 2020, Ichimatsu became more widely known by being selected as the emblem of the Tokyo Olympics.
★Design concept
This piece of blue-patterned fabric on a white background has interlaced plaids, repeating fixed geometric patterns in pairs. It looks refreshing and has a sense of design. Interestingly, this piece of cloth is not of Japanese origin, but from far away Africa!
Sometimes culture is so interesting, the same pattern seen through different backgrounds can tell a completely different story. The designer used two different blues from Japan: one is a saturated Prussian blue, the other is a silky Oshima Tsumugi antique fabric, and an African fabric to compose a square sonata.
The end of the scarf is adorned with two double-sided engraved bats collected by the designer, deliberately flying in opposite directions, not only has the auspicious meaning of "blessing to arrive", but also because of the different ways of wearing, occasionally when the little bats meet, the Bronze material is used. Gently colliding it will make a nice ding ding sound, and it will bring a little bit of auditory interest beyond sight.
★Maintenance: Please hand wash gently. It should be noted that when washing by hand, press gently to avoid twisting the spliced fabric too hard. Flatten to dry and iron at low temperature. For normal storage, please put it in the exclusive storage bag.
