Inspired by traditional patterns from Latvia in Northern Europe. Finished with a charming floral motif. Crafted using 100% Shetland wool yarn imported directly from the Shetland Islands. While not as soft as Merino wool, it is not at all itchy. The yarn naturally traps air, resulting in a lightweight finish. With continued use, the fibers will harmonize, developing a unique felted texture. Before shipping, the item is pre-washed to enhance its soft, felt-like feel. This upbringing results in wool with long fibers, a mix of coarser and finer shorter hairs, and often, a variety of natural colors within the fleece. This resilience translates into strong wool fibers. A key characteristic of wool is its "crimp," the natural waviness of the fiber, which varies by breed. British wool, including Shetland, is distinguished by its dense and abundant crimp. A higher degree of crimp creates yarn that is spongy, elastic, and voluminous. This bulkiness allows the yarn to hold air effectively, providing excellent insulation for a warm and lightweight finished product. Most importantly, strong fibers ensure excellent durability.
