The design of this item is inspired by the National Museum of History’s collections, Flowers and Birds ‘Embroidery. Peony flowers are hand painted on the cups. When one of the cup is up-side-down and then combined with another one, a big round peony is in full bloom, which carries the meaning of prosperity and wealth.This porcelain painting of the cups is called Fa-Hua Cai which originated from Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). This technique requires slow and careful works, resulting outstanding works.
