During this time, the strong men catch abundant fish, and everyone celebrates with song and dance by the sea, sharing their immense joy with passersby. This cherished tradition, passed down through generations, is rich with moving legends. Long ago, a brave warrior was shipwrecked on a deserted island. He yearned and pondered daily, unable to find a way to leave. One day, a great whale suddenly appeared in the sea and said, "Let me help you!" The whale then taught the warrior shipbuilding techniques, enabling him to finally return home and reunite with his family. From then on, during the annual fishing festival, the men would teach everyone how to build boats and offer sacrifices of wine and betel nuts to express their deepest gratitude to the great whale. WasangShow incorporates the whale into indigenous totems, commemorating this beautiful ocean legend. The flying fish of the ocean indigenous people once appeared in a dream to an elder, revealing methods for catching and consuming them, as well as taboos and rituals. The Tao people have followed these instructions for generations, and the flying fish have kept their promise, returning to the designated waters each March. The flying fish season is divided into three stages: the Fish-Calling Festival, the Storage Festival, and the Final Consumption Festival, embodying profound respect for the natural environment and a hope for ecological sustainability. A fisherman from the ocean tribes once accidentally fell into the sea and drifted to an island inhabited entirely by women. He spent several happy days there, but one day, while walking by the sea, he began to cry, missing his home. Just then, a sea turtle appeared and offered to take him home. The fisherman happily followed the sea turtle back to his village. He asked the sea turtle how he could repay this kindness. The sea turtle replied that upon his return, he should establish age classes and manage the tribe well.
