Single-Flower Vase in Red Clay and Turquoise Glaze

This single-flower vase is crafted using coarse red clay, which offers a rustic feel and comforting warmth, a signature of earthenware. The matte finish of the turquoise glaze creates a deep, rich hue. These two elements are combined to create this unique piece. With a slightly tapered base, its form is both rounded and elegantly streamlined. The turquoise color is said to pair beautifully with colors like white, yellow, and pink. We encourage you to enjoy experimenting with various floral arrangements and color combinations. All processes, from wedging the clay to shaping, trimming, drying, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously done by hand in my studio, equipped with an electric potter's wheel and a medium-sized electric kiln. Due to the porous nature of ceramic ware, a waterproofing treatment will be applied. Using this treatment, we have confirmed that water seepage is prevented for approximately 40 hours. However, there's a possibility that some evaporated moisture might slightly dampen the bottom surface. If this is a concern, placing a cloth mat underneath can ensure comfortable use. I explore the creation of diverse ceramic pieces, both in color and form, experimenting with various glazes and clays to discover optimal combinations.
