When large, noticeable stains appeared, I soaked the item in water overnight and dried it in the shade. Mold is a big enemy. After it has absorbed a large amount of water, such as from condensation on cold drinks, I leave it to dry thoroughly for 2-3 days, until it weighs about 40 grams.
