[Xiao Mei Yao Old Zhu Ni Clay] Aged for 30 years, meticulously refined using ancient methods. Unfinished mouth. Fired at 1160°C with a 20% shrinkage rate.
The term "Xiao Mei Yao" refers to a geographical location approximately 5 kilometers from Huanglong Mountain, not the kiln used for firing. Historically, several small kilns for firing bricks, tiles, and pottery existed in this area, leading to its designation as "Xiao Mei Yao."
Xiao Mei Yao Zhu Ni clay is rich in oil and possesses a smooth texture. Its high viscosity makes it challenging to work with and fire. The significant shrinkage during forming, drying, and firing, coupled with a lower firing temperature, makes it prone to warping, deformation, and cracking. After firing, the pieces transform from an orange-red to a dark red hue, exhibiting a warm, lustrous sheen. It enhances tea infusion, turning a delicate, vibrant red when hot water is poured over it, creating a captivating mystique. Teas brewed in this clay reveal a bright, lively character, releasing fragrant aromas and developing a sweet aftertaste. With prolonged use, the color deepens to a rich, warm crimson, exuding a profound warmth and inviting touch.
