This is an upcycled kintsugi SDG jewelry piece, fashioned from ceramics by Fukukiku-gama, a kiln based in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, known for its Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki pottery. We give new life to broken or chipped ceramics, mending them with kintsugi to transform them into accessories. Our concept is to create modern jewelry that connects to the future, allowing wearers to feel close to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, thus giving birth to new possibilities. We've paired hand-painted ceramic fragments with sophisticated, dark freshwater pearls. The sides of the ceramic shards are finished with kintsugi, so the gold accents shine beautifully from every angle, adding a touch of elegance. These small ceramic pieces are easy to wear and complement any outfit. They serve as a stylish accent for both casual and elegant ensembles. This work uses a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Therefore, unlike traditional kintsugi which uses natural lacquer from the urushi tree, adhesive is used for the bonding itself.
