The delicate white "Plumeria" flower is said to be a guardian deity that enhances a woman's charm and leads her to happiness. In Hawaii, it is considered a sacred flower, used in leis and hair ornaments, and has long been cherished as a "flower where gods dwell." With its sweet and gentle fragrance and lovely appearance, its flower meanings include "dignity," "blessed person," "shy maiden," and "affection." Furthermore, as it blooms under the sun of the tropics, it also carries flower meanings such as "passion," "sunlit warmth," and "enthusiasm." As befits a flower so beloved by the Hawaiian people, all of its flower meanings are positive. The five petals of the plumeria are each associated with a letter of ALOHA: "A" for akahi (compassion, kindness), "L" for lōkahi (unity, harmony), "O" for ʻoluʻolu (pleasantness), "H" for haʻahaʻa (humility), and "A" for ahonui (patience). The spirit of ALOHA is imbued in each petal. There is also a very romantic legend associated with the plumeria. It is said that "if one can create a lei with a dewy plumeria flower, still enveloped in morning mist on a full moon's dawn, and present it to the one they desire, their love will be granted." Drawing from this legend, we envisioned an accessory that captures the image of morning dew dripping from a plumeria flower, one drop for each petal. The flowers, crafted from resin clay, are colored with resin, and five small drop beads are attached to a surgical stainless steel chain.
