Since we launched our basic hand-sewing classes, we've learned from our students that the primary reasons for signing up are being complete beginners and needing to mend their own clothes. These insights have led us to re-evaluate the positioning of our foundational courses. To better serve those with a desire to learn but who are concerned about classes being canceled due to low enrollment... **We now offer one-on-one private lessons!!** Students can schedule their lessons at a time that suits them best. You can ask questions and clarify any doubts without hesitation, or request the instructor to repeat demonstrations without feeling like you're holding back the progress of other students. These concerns are completely eliminated in our one-on-one private sessions! Within the 1.5-hour lesson, the instructor will guide you step-by-step through each technique, completing a sample piece during the class. Feel free to ask questions at any time. Our aim is for every student with a learning need to acquire practical sewing skills for everyday life in a comfortable and enjoyable manner! **Note:** Due to the nature of the content and the need for effective communication, we currently only accept students aged 15 and above. If you are under 15 and wish to attend, please message us privately to discuss your needs with the instructor. **Course Objectives** Have you ever experienced this? Because you didn't know how to use a needle and thread to make simple repairs on your own or your family's clothes, you've stopped wearing those items with loose stitching, missing buttons, or unfastened hooks? In recent years, the rapid development of fast fashion has transformed and impacted consumers' habits regarding clothing purchases and wear. Many garments are perhaps discarded before they even show signs of wear, simply because people no longer wear them. It's truly a shame! However, regardless of how fast fashion changes our lives, there are inevitably some clothes that we cherish, wish to preserve, or want to continue wearing in our daily lives. No matter how carefully we care for them, clothes will always reach a point where they need mending. This could be anything from buttons on shirts or coats that have become loose, to fallen hems on trousers or skirts, to seams that have split and created holes, or even wanting to alter the length yourself. Through modules focusing on different hand-sewing techniques, this course is designed for complete beginners interested in learning. The goal is to equip participants with basic hand-sewing skills, enabling them to perform practical garment repairs at home. Only basic hand-sewing techniques are taught. A practical piece will be made during the class (for hands-on practice), which can then be used as a reference for future self-study.
