The best protection for silver jewelry is to wear it daily, as the body's natural oils impart a warm, gentle luster to pure silver. 2. After wearing, store your jewelry by frequently wiping it with a polishing cloth to maintain its condition. It's best to store it sealed and dry to prevent oxidation in the air, which can cause it to darken. 3. Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the jewelry. Remember not to wear it while bathing in hot springs or swimming (in pools or the sea). 4. Human sweat contains sulfur and ammonia, and the air can contain hydrogen sulfide and hydrogen monoxide. These substances can cause the surface of silver jewelry to oxidize and discolor, losing its shine.
