Kiriko glass made by independent Kiriko glass artist Saito Hikaru.
We have mastered the secret techniques of hand polishing at an Edo Kiriko workshop that has been in business for over 100 years, and we have adopted this polishing method that respects tradition because it offers many benefits to users, even though it may be less productive or less profitable.
While respecting traditional designs, we strive to create interesting designs that ordinary Edo Kiriko craftsmen would not create.

When thinking about the new design, I thought about what only I can do and what my strengths are.
This is because the site receives a large amount of traffic from Sumida Ward, the main production area of Edo Kiriko.
I foresee Edo Kiriko craftsmen from other studios taking a good look at my designs.
I post the production process like this on my website.
While letting users know the intention behind the design will make it more enjoyable, if you include too many innovative ideas or technical details, other craftsmen will tend to copy it.
So, going back to the first sentence, I focused on the things that only I could do.
Among the equipment I own, I once ordered some large-sized cutting equipment, thinking, "I might not need it, but I should order a larger size."
But I've never needed a larger size.
Although large equipment can do the job of small, we were only using large equipment to make small cuts.
On the other hand, the equipment would seem unconventional and custom-made to other craftsmen.
In other words, no other craftsman can create a design that makes the most of that equipment.
So I came up with the idea of turning the round tumbler into a square tumbler.
Kiriko glass originally involves removing all of the color from the bottom, which almost no one does anymore, so we thought that if we used custom-made equipment we could do that, and that would be original.
Removing the color from the bottom also requires the large equipment mentioned earlier, so this is also a design that other craftsmen cannot create.
By removing the color from the bottom, the clear paint at the bottom came out better, resulting in a very beautiful finish.
We would like to continue creating designs that use the color of the bottom as an original feature of our workshop.
The product design was created with the image of a celebration in mind.
Celebrate happy events in a simple and peaceful way with someone you love.
That's the image I have.
The design has been further refined to make it even more beautiful and original.
Rather than just increasing the number of intersecting lines to create a design that is superficial, we have strengthened the core structural design element.
I personally like this "toast" shape very much, and I also make it into shapes for all of our other glasses.
The area surrounded by the black line has been finished to look like frosted glass using an eraser process.
The matte finish accentuates the glass and gives it a sophisticated look.
The very fine cuts within the central emblem shape are a traditional chrysanthemum motif.
The Kiku-tsunagi pattern is one of the most difficult cuts among traditional patterns.
It is an auspicious motif that symbolizes longevity, good health, and nobility.
This chrysanthemum connection is also a little different, featuring intricate details that ordinary Edo Kiriko craftsmen would not have thought of and would not implement.
Due to technical reasons we cannot disclose the details, but the intricate craftsmanship gives the piece a greater shine and luster than typical Edo Kiriko chrysanthemum connections.
We hope you will experience the pleasant feel of cut glass with its sharp edges.
The mouth of the cup has also been rubbed into a shape that we believe will be most comfortable in the mouth.
We are confident that you will be able to appreciate the quality of our products, which are handmade by artisans, not only in appearance but also in the feel and texture of the products.
We hope you will consider purchasing this product for yourself, as a gift, or to improve your store's brand image.
