Mouse King Brooch

This brooch is inspired by the Mouse King from the ballet The Nutcracker. The embroidery is done carefully, stitch by stitch, using a single strand of Embroidery thread on a thin fabric base. The design started with the idea of what kind of costume the Mouse King, who is a villain in a ballet play and has a low saturation of black, would wear if he were to take the lead role. We used subdued green and red Embroidery thread to create an elegant Christmas feel, and sewed fluffy knitted doll yarn into the collar to create a cute and stylish king. The back side is made of white synthetic leather. The brooch uses a rotating pin type of fitting, which means that the pin can only be moved when the brooch is being worn, and can be locked at other times to prevent the pin from popping out. This brooch is very light, weighing approximately 4g (the equivalent of four 1 yen coins).
