The process involves repeatedly soaking the hide in solutions of varying concentrations, typically taking one to two months. Vegetable-tanned leather is free from harmful heavy metals and chemicals, making it safe for direct skin contact. It beautifully preserves the leather's natural grain and texture. Over time, with exposure to sunlight and moisture, the leather develops a rich patina, deepens in color, and acquires unique wear marks – a process affectionately known as "patina cultivation" or "leather nurturing." Leather de Home watch straps are meticulously hand-stitched using a traditional double-needle technique. Both the top and underside are crafted from Italian vegetable-tanned leather, ensuring superior durability compared to machine-stitched alternatives. The edges are carefully sanded from coarse to fine grit, then polished to a smooth, natural finish.
