The size of the board, the mounting hardware, the materials from which it is made, the old kind of wood, plexiglass on top of the board, as well as aluminum (silumin) chess pieces (the fact that they are made of metal, and it was easier to make it out of metal after the war, when the whole industry worked with metal, producing military products for the front) says that the date is correct. But I didn't find what the word "saraboe" means. The nearest suitable word that the Internet has given out is Surabaya. During this period in 1945, there were indeed fateful events in Surabaya in Indonesia. Since it was a world war, it is possible that this chess gift is somehow intertwined with these events, perhaps the person who gave the chess set (or the one to whom it was presented) has something to do with this. I also found information on the Internet that the Battle of Surabaya is like the Battle of Stalingrad for the Soviet people. But these are just assumptions based on the incorrect spelling and pronunciation of the word Surabaya ("saraboe") at that time.
