Line variation is achieved not by pressing down, but by adjusting the pen's angle. When holding the pen upright, the contact area between the nib and paper is smaller, resulting in finer lines. As you tilt the pen more or apply slight pressure, the contact area increases, producing broader lines. The ability to write both thick and thin lines depends on your dexterity (each nib has a certain tolerance for pressure; avoid excessive force to prevent damage or misalignment.
